Directions to the Museum
Due to construction, temporary lane closures will change traffic flow and pedestrian access on the Museum’s east side through late 2025.
- Cars should enter via 22nd or 23rd Avenues (not Montview Boulevard).
- Pedestrians will be directed along accessible pathways to the School Group (South) Entrance.
Please note: Entry should always be from 22nd and 23rd Avenues
From the North
Take I-25 south to I-70 (Exit 214), then take I-70 east to Colorado Boulevard south (Exit 276-B). Go south on Colorado Boulevard for two miles. Turn right (west) at either 22nd or 23rd Avenue.
From the South
Take I-25 north to Colorado Boulevard (Exit 204). Go north on Colorado Boulevard for five miles. Turn left (west) at either 22nd or 23rd Avenue.
From the East
Take I-70 west to Colorado Boulevard south (Exit 276-B). Go south on Colorado Boulevard for two miles. Turn right (west) at either 22nd or 23rd Avenue.
From the West
Take I-70 east to Colorado Boulevard south (Exit 276-B). Go south on Colorado Boulevard for two miles. Turn right (west) at either 22nd or 23rd Avenue.

Bus Routes
RTD buses #20 and #40 stop near the Museum on Colorado and Montview Boulevards. If coming from Union Station, we recommend #20 (from 17th & Larimer) or #32 (from 16th & Wazee). For specific information, call RTD at 303.299.6000, 1.800.366.RIDE.
Pedestrians arriving from the bus stop on Colorado Blvd. will be directed along accessible pathways to the School Group (South) Entrance.

Bike Racks
A bike rack is located on the north side of the Museum, just in front of the main entrance and on Level 2 of the parking garage, near the elevators.

Parking at the Museum
Parking is FREE at the Museum
The Main Parking Lot is located on the north side of the Museum, facing City Park's ball fields. Parking spaces for those with disabilities are available close to the Museum's main entrance.
The entrance to the Underground Parking Garage is on the west side of the Museum's north parking lot, by the main entrance. There are 550 underground spaces on two levels, including multiple spots for those with disabilities.
Additional Parking is located along E. 22nd Avenue just north of the main lot, along Lake Avenue to the west of the Museum, and just north of the Denver Zoo in City Park.
Museum Entrances
The Main Entrance is located on the north side of the building. It's open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and most Fridays for Friday Evening Hours until 9 p.m.
The School (South) Entrance is located on the south side of the building. It's open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and most Fridays for Friday Evening Hours until 9 p.m.
The Ricketson Auditorium & Evening Entrance is located on the west side of the building, facing City Park. It opens 30 minutes before program start times for evening lectures and events.
