The Virtual Science Academy brings the best of the Museum directly to your classroom. Award-winning and two-way interactive, these programs are lead by professional Museum educators and will have your students engaging in experiments, dissections and thought-provoking discussions.

Our virtual programs connect using a computer with a webcam and internet, meaning your students can join together as a class or remotely from home. Available nationally or internationally, some of our programs are additionally available in Spanish.

Price: $140 for your first virtual booking, $120 for each subsequent class scheduled for the same day

Grades: 3 - 8

Reservations must be made minimum of 21 days in advance. 

Please note that all Virtual Science Academy bookings must be made at least 21 days in advance of their scheduled date.

A Spanish speaking bilingual educator may be available upon request. The Museum can also provide Spanish program materials for students and chaperones.

Virtual Heart

Get your students' pulses going with this dissection experience! Your class will participate in interactive experiments and discussion as well as guide the dissection of a real sheep heart. This class is a perfect introduction of the cardiovascular system or an opportunity to build upon the foundation of why our hearts are so important.

Grades: 3-5 and 6-8

Virtual Lung

Take your class's breath away as they get to peer inside a respiratory system and engage with a live Museum educator! Explore lung anatomy while observing a sheep lung dissection. Participate in experiments and make observations to learn how the respiratory system works. This class is a perfect introduction to the respiratory system or an opportunity to expand current knowledge for why our lungs are critical for survival.

Grades: 3-5 and 6-8

New Me: Puberty

Explore the physical, emotional and chemical changes of puberty with a sensitive, respectful and co-ed discussion lead by a Museum educator. The perfect introduction to the human reproductive system and its biology, this class provides students with a welcoming space to learn, ask questions and prepare for puberty.
