Our most famous falling star
In 1973, a softball-size hunk of rock from the asteroid belt entered our atmosphere at over 25,000 miles per hour. Much bigger than dust-to-pea-size bits of rock that burn up as shooting stars, this rock blasted through the roof of a Colorado garage.
