Denver Museum of Nature & Science Hosts an Ice Age Spring Break March 21 through March 31 with Extended Hours Available
DENVER—March 14, 2013—The Denver Museum of Nature & Science invites families and visitors of all ages to enjoy Spring Break: Ice Age from Thursday, March 21, to Sunday, March 31. The event celebrates the Museum’s new temporary exhibition Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age—featuring life-size models of Ice Age animals, fossils, interactive displays, and more—and the new IMAX film, Titans of the Ice Age 3D. In addition to visiting the exhibition and IMAX, extra Ice Age programming will be available throughout the Museum free with admission.
Spring Break: Ice Age

Highlights:
- Art Station: Ice Age—The whole family will enjoy creating and taking home their own Ice Age craft to help them remember their day!
- Bone Dig—Younger visitors can don a helmet and vest and discover casts of real fossils buried in the dirt.
- Tusk yourself —Ever wondered what you’d look like with giant tusks? Take your picture here, and we’ll overlay some of the largest tusks ever discovered in Colorado!
- Ice Age trivia—Think you know your mammoths from your mastodons? Spin the wheel and answer an Ice Age question at this station to win a fabulous prize!
- Time Scene Investigation—On select days throughout Spring Break, come to one of our Time Scene Investigation presentations. Come face to face with mammoths, mastodons, and real scientists! Use scientific inquiry to learn about the Ice Age, how your backyard has changed through time, and what scientists are learning about the Snowmass Village area and the Ice Age creatures that used to live there.
- Mr. Bones—A Museum favorite! Mr. Bones will be at the Museum on select dates, walking around in his large-as-life puppets of ancient creatures.
Exhibition Information
Return to the Ice Age. In Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age, you will encounter some of Earth’s most awe-inspiring mammals, roam among saber-toothed cats and giant bears, and wonder over some of the oldest human artifacts in existence. Life-size models of Ice Age behemoths, fossil tusks and skulls, touchable teeth, spear points, cave paintings, interactive displays, and video installations bring this fascinating time in Earth history back to life. Extended Exhibition Hours

Titans of the Ice Age 3D transports you back 10,000 years before modern civilization to the beautiful and otherworldly landscapes of North America, Europe, and Asia.
