DENVER―May 15― The Denver Museum of Nature & Science announces its newest discount program in partnership with Denver Human Services (DHS). Beginning on May 27, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients will receive $1 admission per person for up to 10 people when they show their EBT card. The SNAP Discount Pilot Program will run through Dec. 31. The Museum will evaluate the program in the fall for possible extension into 2018.
“The Museum is always looking for ways to serve our community. We are excited to work with the DHS to raise awareness about our SNAP Discount Pilot Program,” said George Sparks, president and CEO of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science.
DHS provides assistance benefits, as well as protection and preventative services to one in three Denver residents. Partnering with the DHS will allow the Museum to greatly expand its reach, providing access to many more people in the community.
“We are excited to launch this partnership with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to open up access to the Museum for more Denver families,” said DHS Executive Director Don Mares. “This will provide children access to explore, learn, and grow, and will give their parents an affordable way to engage their children in an interactive learning experience.”
The SNAP discount cannot be combined with any other discounts and can only be applied to Museum admission tickets purchased in person at the Museum. EBT cards cannot be used to purchase Museum admission tickets.
