Field Trip Adventures

In order to better serve you and your students, the Museum offers Field Trip Adventures to maximize the learning impact of your limited field trip time and support Colorado Academic Standards. A Field Trip Adventure includes a facilitated program, exhibit exploration, and a lunch break. Choose from one of the preplanned experiences designed for specific grade ranges.  

  • Mystery at the Museum, grades 5-8

    Offered: Monday- Friday 

    January 9, 2017- May 26, 2017

    Using forensic science and logic, students uncover the surprising secrets of toxic plants and animals to investigate the puzzling poisoning of a Museum scientist.

  • Unraveling Mummies: Modern Technology, Dissection, and Ancient Egypt, grades 6-8

    Offered: Monday- Friday

    February 6, 2017- May 26, 2017

    This laboratory experience, featuring organ dissections of a real sheep heart and viewing CT-scans, combines explorations of culture and anatomy to help students understand ancient Egyptian mummification.
