The Conservation Department has new and exciting volunteer opportunities available. The department is responsible for the care and preservation of collections from Anthropology, Earth Sciences, Education Collections, Health Sciences, and Zoology. Volunteers will help with essential functions related to all collections. Please read below to learn more about the positions available.
Environmental Monitoring Assistant
Volunteers will assist the Conservation Department by processing some of the data that the Museum gathers to monitor baseline temperature and relative humidity (T/RH) in preservation spaces. This position may also help the department to test new materials. Experience or education related to climatology, project management, or engineering required.
Image and Scanning Assistant
Volunteers will support the department with scanning and formatting photographs and slides for processing within the Center’s documentation files. Photos are documentation of the conservation work done on the collections. Scanning, photography, archives, project management, or engineering experience required.
Conservation Office Assistant
This position supports the Avenir Conservation Center by assisting with various administrative tasks assigned and by providing support to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the Center. Office and computer experience required; project management experience helpful.

Museum Conservator will train.
Shifts available Tuesday and Thursday. 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 – 4 p.m.
