Past. Present. Future.
Follow Our Progress
In April 2009, the 10,000-square-foot Expedition Health gallery
opens to the public. In the exhibition gallery, visitors
experience highly-interactive, highly-personalized activities,
immerse themselves in a theater experience that will engage all of
their senses, look at microscopic cells from their own bodies in a
laboratory, participate in live demonstrations and programs, and
meet new "buddies" who will help them learn about their health.
In Fall 2009, the Museum completes a total renovation of Phipps
Special Exhibits Gallery. Crews install a new vapor barrier,
new interior walls, and new air handling units to control
temperature and humidity levels inside the gallery. These
improvements not only make Phipps Gallery more comfortable for
visitors, they create a stable environment for rare and fragile
artifacts featured in the world's best traveling exhibitions.
We are creating an extraordinary physical transformation by adding more space to engage, delight, and spark imaginations. This space will include the new Anschutz Gallery, the three-story Morgridge Family Exploration Center, the two-story Rocky Mountain Science Collections Center, and a new Discovery Zone made possible by Kaiser Permanente.

To be determined
As part of our Museum 20/20 strategic plan, the Museum
will complete four all-new permanent exhibitions. Expedition
Health, which opened in 2009, was the first of these exhibitions to
be completed. The others will be completed by 2020.
